In this interview she talks about her youth and life before poker, being dumped by Daniel Negreanu (yes, that’s right, HE dumped HER), becoming a poker pro, the difference between cash games and tournaments and some smalltalk like her fascination with serial-killers (yep!).

Nadya Magnus: a hot Loose Cannon

In the new poker gameshow Pokerstars.net The Big Game, an amateur poker player (called “The Loose Cannon”) gets staked 100.000$ to compete with the pro’s. This weeks’ Loose Cannon is Nadya Magnus, a hot American Pokerchick, with Russian roots. I’m rooting she can kick some pro’s ass!

Leo Margets plays in Poker Heaven’s European Cash Game Season 2

Leo Margets makes her first television appearance since the WSOP 2009. She’s playing alongside some of the top male European cash game players in Poker Heaven’s European Cash Game Season 2. I’m sure she’ll show those men that girls can play poker too. I’m rooting for her!

Erica Schoenberg goes nude!

Erica Schoenberg appeared on Carmen Electra Poker Strip Tease. That’s a show where female celebrities play No-Limit Texas Hold’em with a nice twist: they don’t play for chips but for their clothes! Luckily for us Erica got off to a pretty bad start, so she was obliged to play topless through the rest of the show. Nice!

Annie Duke gave an interview to USAToday to recently. A quick excerpt:

Q: Must women approach poker or business differently than men?

A: Only in the sense that others perceive them differently. It has to do with the way that people react to you. Some poker players think losing to a woman is the worst thing that could happen. You play differently against them. In business, it can be an advantage. Instead of fighting it, use it. If somebody doesn’t give you respect, don’t try to convince them that they should. Let them underestimate you. If they think you’re dumb, let them think so. Women spend too much time trying to prove themselves instead of just saying, “I hope everybody underestimates me.” If I see a woman at the table, I’m going to assume she’s not that skilled. But the minute they put their first chip in the pot, I start updating my opinion.
