Natalia Nikitina wins the WPT National Series EFOP Paris Main Event 2011

Natalia Nikitina, the new female poker sensation from Russia, took down the WPT National Series EFOP Paris Main Event 2011, cashing €243,830 ($330,570). After playing almost 4 hours heads-up these two crucial hands came down:

First she got lucky when here A2 caught a deuce on the flop, to suckout on her opponents’ AQ. A few hands later she called the all-in of Alexandre Brivot, who was now shortstacked, with A3, which held up against his KJ.

Liv Boeree wins the Sunday Warm-Up

Liv Boeree, the most popular female poker player these days, has yet again proven why she is worth all the recent attention. Last Sunday (February 6) she outlasted 4,710 players, cashing $147,780.

After making it through a tough final table, which also featured an other Team PokerStars Pro Marcin Horecki, heads-up play versus James “mig.com” Mackey ended with Boeree’s pocket 7′s holding up against Mackey’s A6.

Vanessa Rousso hosts women-only poker bootcamp

Vanessa Rousso has become the lead instructor for Big Slick Bootcamp, a company that organises poker bootcamps. LadyMaverick will be leading some training programs for poker women only. If you want to participate in these two day events it’ll set you back $360, a reasonable price to learn from -arguably- the best female poker player at the moment.

The next bootcamp will be at the B.C. Women’s Poker Classic in Langley, Canada on the February 19th. Future events and bootcamps can be found at BSB’s website.

Maria Ho signs with UB

After the departure of the famous Liv Boeree from UB (she later signed a sponsordeal with Pokerstars: Liv Boeree joins Team Pokerstars) the pokersite most famous for harboring Phill Hellmuth, needed a new poker beauty. So they offered Maria Ho a sponsorship, which she happily accepted.

She told Poker News Daily:

“To be a part of Team UB, which boasts a well-respected roster of pros that have achieved so much and stood the test of time in the game such as Phil Hellmuth and Annie Duke, as well as newer pros to the scene that have incredible success and talent such as Eric Baldwin and Adam Levy, is something I am proud of.”

Liv Boeree joins Team Pokerstars

Last week Liv Boeree joined Team Pokerstars. This announcement was complemented by two new high-res pictures from a Pokerstars photoshoot (below) and an interview, a small excerpt:

So what’s it like to join Team PokerStars Pro?
“It’s more of an honour than I can really describe. It’s something I’ve been aspiring towards ever since I learned about the world of poker, and I am over the moon to be achieving such a huge personal goal!”

What do you hope to achieve as part of Team PokerStars Pro?
“I hope to grow my game as far as possible by studying and playing as much as I can. I’ll also hopefully get to use the wonderful resource of the other Team Pros – some of the greatest poker minds in the game! Hopefully I’ll use this to produce further results and make the Team proud!”

In the new poker gameshow Pokerstars.net The Big Game, an amateur poker player (called “The Loose Cannon”) gets staked 100.000$ to compete with the pro’s. This weeks’ Loose Cannon is Nadya Magnus, a hot American Pokerchick, with Russian roots. I’m rooting she can kick some pro’s ass!

Erica Schoenberg goes nude!

Erica Schoenberg appeared on Carmen Electra Poker Strip Tease. That’s a show where female celebrities play No-Limit Texas Hold’em with a nice twist: they don’t play for chips but for their clothes! Luckily for us Erica got off to a pretty bad start, so she was obliged to play topless through the rest of the show. Nice!
